Friends, Inc. was founded thirty years ago by Mrs. Dorothy Collier. For many years it was known as Friends to the Elderly. It initially served as a community center for the elderly during the day and helped the local youth in the afternoons and evenings. This non-profit organization allowed people to gather with their peers and enjoy socializing and learning.
We have currently changed our name to Friends, Inc., to reflect our focus on the youth of the community, as well as our branching out beyond Buffalo. We are currently primarily delivering SES services in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, with plans to work with other districts in need of improvement.
